How this offer works

The Barclays Frontier Mastercard is out with an offer to earn a total of 100,000 miles after $3,000 in purchases in the first 180 days if you can verify that you have a qualifying co-branded credit card with another US airline. Here’s how the process works:

    1. Apply for the Frontier Mastercard by January 31, 2025. If approved:
    2. Go to this page to verify your eligibility with your Frontier number and the first 6 digits of your cobranded card
    3. Complete the ‘Bonus Application’ form. Provide your US Domestic Airline cobranded credit card 16-digit number with expiration date, zip code and Security Code. A $1 temporary pre-authorization will be placed on your card for the purpose of validating this offer.
    4. Spend $3,000 on your new Frontier card within 180 days to earn a total of 100,000 miles

Quick Thoughts

This is certainly an interesting offer for those who live near an airport with decent Frontier coverage.

Miles are worth 0.95c per mile according to our Reasonable Redemption Values, which puts the bonus at a value of around $950 if you’re able to get the full 100,000 miles. That’s certainly not a bad deal if you have enough Frontier options to make good use of the points.

Furthermore, the offer to get and potentially keep Gold status for a year could be quite valuable since you’ll get a free carry-on bag and preferred seat assignment at booking — the savings there could certainly add up. At some point in 2025, Gold members and above are expected to become eligible for seat upgrades to UpFront or potentially First Class seats (Frontier previously announced the intention to launch a first class product in mid-2025). And with the ability to earn Platinum status with 20,000 status points earned by April 30, 2025 and free companion travel coming for Platinum and Diamond members at some point in 2025, some will no doubt find Frontier more interesting than ever in the new year.

I’d be far less interested in this card if I didn’t already have a co-branded airline card with another US domestic airline, but for those who do have a co-branded card, this is the best offer we’ve seen on the Frontier card.

All that said, there just aren’t enough Frontier routes serving places where I travel, so this isn’t a fit for my travel patterns. Still, I’m sure it’ll be a good fit for some.
