Quick Thoughts
Earning 10,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards on $400 spend is a great return, especially if your booking happens to be $500+ and you’re also targeted for the Chase Offer giving a $100 statement credit. That separate Chase Offer seems to be valid on any type of booking via Chase Travel, whereas this 10,000 bonus point offer is only valid for hotel stays.
Something to bear in mind is that hotel stays booked through Chase Travel will be regarded by hotel chains as an OTA (Online Travel Agency) booking. That means your reservation won’t earn points with the hotel chain, you won’t earn elite night credits nor receive status benefits, etc. In an ideal world, this offer is therefore best used on a stay at an independent hotel or with a chain where you don’t care about earning points or receiving status benefits, but it could still be worth booking via the Chase Travel portal rather than direct even with your preferred chains.
