Last week, we wrote about a targeted offer available for the Blue Business Plus (BBP) card without Amex’s lifetime language (an “NLL” offer). Those folks that that were targeted could earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases within the first 12 months and 5,000 points for adding an authorized user, regardless of whether or not they’d ever had the card before.
In the comments of that post, people referred to being targeted for another offer that’s been going on for awhile on the BBP: 50k points after only $5k in spend. While the ceiling is 5k points less than the NLL offer, that’s easily worth it for most people given that the spend was a full $10,000 less (although in three months instead of 12).
Now, Doctor of Credit has shared a direct link for that better 50k/$5k offer, so it’s possible to check and find out whether or not you’re targeted. There’s also a link for the Blue Business Cash that gives a $500 statement credit after the same $5k in spend. Both offers have once-in-a-lifetime language.
This isn’t the best offer that we’ve seen for the Blue Business Plus, as we recently saw a one for 80,000 MR rewards. That said, it is very good compared to what’s been available historically, especially after only $5k in spend.
The Deal
- Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $5,000 in purchases within the first 3 months after approval for a new Blue Business Plus card.
Link to see if you are targeted (must log-in to Amex account to find out if you’re targeted)
- Earn a $500 statement credit after $5,000 in purchases within the first 3 months after approval for a new Blue Business Cash card.
Link to see if you are targeted (must log-in to Amex account to find out if you’re targeted)
You will need to log-in, then click the “apply” button to see if you’re targeted. If you don’t see the bonus on the landing page and/or get a message that says something along the lines of “Sorry, this offer is no longer available”, that means you’re not targeted.

Quick Thoughts
This is one of the better offers that we see for for this card. The Blue Business Plus often has no welcome bonus, and even when it does, it’s typically only been 10,000-15,000 bonus points after $3-5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.
I’m a big fan of the BBP. The card earns 2x on all spend (up to $50K in purchases per calendar year). That can make it a terrific “everywhere else” card for people who value Membership Rewards points and it’s also a useful backstop card since it has no annual fee but keeps Membership Rewards points alive and transferable to partners. Thus, there’s never any worry about cancelling a MR-earning card and losing points.
By meeting the terms of this bonus, you would end up with a total of 60,000 points in the three months between the normal 2x on the first $5K in purchases and the 50k welcome bonus. That’s 12x MR on $5K spending anywhere over three months with no annual fee…a very good return.
