Increased Hilton consumer card offers

There are slightly increased offers available on each of the Amex Hilton Consumer credit cards. New public offers for the Amex Hilton Honors credit card, the Amex Hilton Honors Surpass credit card, and the Amex Hilton Aspire credit card add 10,000 points to the previous best offers. That may not be enough to move the needle, but it’s worth knowing about these increased offers if you had it in mind to apply for one of these cards.

Quick Thoughts

The previous offers for each of these cards were about the same, but when logged into wifi at a Hilton property, Stephen encountered a link to these offers that add an additional 10,000 points over the offers that we had listed for these cards previously.

Given that we value Hilton points around half a cent per point, the additional bonus here adds about $50 worth of value to the welcome offer on each card. That’s not enough to compel one to apply, but it beats the offer you might otherwise see by about $50. That’s not nothing.

If you’re playing in two player mode, you won’t be able to get these offers to populate. In other words, if you want to refer your “Player 2” to a new Amex Hilton card, the offer you’ll see will be for 10K fewer points. However, the referral bonus that P1 can earn for referring P-2 (or vice versa) is worth more than the 10,000 Hilton point premium here. Therefore, if your plan was to earn referral points (and particularly if you can leverage the current “+10 at restaurants” promotion), you’ll still want to stick with that over this offer.

Each of these offers are quite good, though not the best that we’ve ever seen. We don’t typically see an increase on the Aspire card though we have seen offers for the other cards that have included a free night certificate or two.

Overall, I suspect that either you are already interested in a Hilton Card and this gives you a little bit of an added incentive to go ahead and make the leap or it otherwise probably isn’t consequential. Still, with the expected additions of SLH and Autocamp this year I know some readers are probably more interested in Hilton points now than they were a few months ago.
