Marriott Bonvoy has launched a new promotion which is giving 1,000 bonus points for each night you stay, as well as double elite night credits. The downside? It’s only valid on paid stays.

Marriott Bonvoy promotion

The Deal

Key Terms

  • Registration of your Marriott Bonvoy Account is required.
  • Marriott Bonvoy members who register for this promotion by April 14, 2025, will earn 1,000 bonus Points per eligible paid night, plus one bonus Elite Night Credit per eligible paid night, during the 77-night promotion earning period.
  • The promotion earning period is for eligible paid nights completed between February 11, 2025, and April 28, 2025, and is only for stays booked through Marriott Channels and other Qualifying Channels which include, but are not limited to: Marriott Websites, the Mobile Apps, Participating Properties, and the Customer Engagement Centers.
  • Please note that a hotel must participate in Marriott Bonvoy at the time of the stay to qualify as a night under the promotion terms.
  • There is no limit to the number of completed eligible paid nights a Member can earn bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credit on during the promotion earning period.
  • Only eligible paid nights completed after promotion registration and during the promotion earning period will qualify for any bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credits earned with this promotion.
  • Eligible paid nights at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy are eligible for promotional credit. For eligible paid nights at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, these bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credits will be posted up to 6 weeks after the promotion earning period ends.
  • Award redemption stay nights, including Cash + Points Awards, Free Night Awards, or a Points redemption, are not eligible for the promotion.
  • Rates available through most third-party online retailers and select travel agency rates do not qualify for this promotion (“Non-Qualifying Rate”).
  • Nights at BVLGARI, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club, Grand Residences by Marriott, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, The Ritz-Carlton Club, The St. Regis Residence Club, and The Luxury Collection Residence Club, are not eligible for bonus Points or bonus Elite Night Credits for this promotion.
  • Only one room at one property per night is counted toward a member’s eligible paid nights for the promotion.
  • The 1,000 bonus Points and one bonus Elite Night Credit per eligible paid night will be awarded to the member’s Account within 10 business days after checkout and will post with the stay.
  • Elite Night Credits will count only toward the status year in which they are posted.
  • A Member who elects to earn Miles is not eligible for this promotion.

Quick Thoughts

This isn’t a particularly compelling promotion as the RRV for 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points is $7. That said, 1,000 bonus points per night is clearly better than zero bonus points per night. For people booking longer stays, it’s also better than past Marriott promos where they’ve offered 2,000 bonus points per stay, as staying 3+ nights during this new promotion period will garner more bonus points.

For anyone looking to earn elite status with Marriott, earning double elite night credits could be extremely useful too. If you have both a personal and business Marriott credit card, you’ll be starting the year with 30 elite night credits (or 40 if your personal card is the Bonvoy Brilliant card). Staying just 10 paid nights during the promo period would earn you 20 elite night credits – enough for Platinum status. Staying 23 nights would earn 46 elite night credits – enough for Titanium status when paired with the 30 nights from credit cards.

As mentioned at the start of the post though, the downside is that this offer is only valid on paid stays. For road warriors that won’t be an issue, but anyone booking stays with points or free night certificates will be out of luck.

Seeing as this promotion is only valid on paid stays, be sure to remember to click through from a shopping portal – here are the current rates. Portal rates for Marriott tend to be fairly low, but I’ve gotten targeted offers for 8% back from Capital One Shopping recently. It’s therefore worth browsing the Marriott website on a browser with the Capital One Shopping browser extension installed; that way you’ll hopefully be targeted with a better offer within 24 hours or so.

There are also Amex Offers for Marriott brands and Marriott Homes & Villas, as well as Chase Offers for some specific Marriott brands as well as Homes & Villas.

Update: As is often the case with Marriott promotions, many Bonvoy members are reporting in the comments that they’re unable to register for this promo. That usually seems to be as a result of Marriott’s poor tech rather than members not being targeted. In the past, people have had success sending a DM to MBonvoyAssist on Twitter, so hopefully that still works.
