Some Amex cardholders have reported a new round of targeted Air France / KLM Amex Offers coming out over the past few days that are good for either 20,000 Membership Rewards points or $200 back (depending on your card offer) when you enroll and then spend $1,000 or more with Air France and/or KLM by 12/31/24.

The Deal

  • A new targeted Amex Offer is out to get either 20,000 Membership Rewards points or $200 cash back when you spend $1,000 or more on flights departing the US and being charged in US Dollars at Airfrance.us or KLM.us. Enrollment is required and it is a targeted offer, so not everyone will see it.

Key Terms

  • Targeted, must enroll
  • Expires 12/31/24
  • Flights must originate in the US and be charged in US dollars according to the terms
  • See your offer for full details

Quick Thoughts

Note that the terms indicate that the flight must originate in the US and be charged in US Dollars to qualify. I know that award ticket taxes have triggered these offers before, which could make this a nice deal for anyone booking multiple tickets. Taxes and fees can add up to right around $1,000 one-way departing the US if you’re traveling as a family of four.

Personally, I’d prefer the version for 20,000 points as I value them at more than $0.01 per point, but unfortunately neither my wife nor I were targeted on any of our cards. That’s too bad as I am indeed eyeing another Air France redemption and this offer would likely put me over the top in wrapping up a booking. Sometimes we see these offers slowly roll out to additional cardholders, so I’ll keep my eye out.

Be sure you enroll in the offer before spending.
